FOR MASTERING SEND ME

Your final mixes.

    FOR MIXING SEND ME

    1. Your Pro Tools session(s), or your exported stems (see below) from any other DAW
    2. The Artist, Song, and BPM in each track’s folder name: ”Artist_Song_120BPM”
    3. Your rough mix

    STEM GUIDELINES

The more time I spend troubleshooting your stems, the less time I spend mixing your track.

Do these 7 things right the first time:

    1. NAME your exported stems SIMPLY and ACCURATELY
    2. Make sure all your stems LINE UP AT THE SAME STARTING POINT
    3. Export MONO TRACKS AS MONO FILES and STEREO TRACKS AS STEREO FILES
    4. Export at the SAME RESOLUTION AS ORIGINALLY RECORDED in your session
    5. DO NOT NORMALIZE OR DITHER your exports
    6. Send me GOOD AUDIO with CLEAN EDITS and NO DIGITIAL CLIPPING (This is YOUR music.)
    7. CHECK YOUR EXPORTS before sharing to confirm you’re sending me ALL THE RIGHT TRACKS and that they FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES

    RAW OR PROCESSSED?

When in doubt, send me unprocessed (”dry”) audio and I’ll build my mix from scratch. If you send me processed (”wet”) stems, then with all my channels zeroed I should get your mix how you left it. If this sounds good, I can build on your results. If your mix wasn’t working, it may take me longer to fix things than if I had started fresh, which could compromise your mix or cost you more money in the long run.You can also pick and choose, sending me processed stems only for tracks where you specifically want to keep the sound you’ve already achieved, like an effect or special treatment.
